iPhone Recap : March 2013

Sunday, March 31, 2013

A bad day is instantly better after a cup of Starbucks. It seriously has healing powers.

I LOVE this magazine!
My ever growing collection of colored & patterned skinny jeans. I will be so sad when this trend goes away.

Finally time to break out the Spring colors! Coral is my go to color this season.

My AMAZING husband gave me a fancy espresso machine for our 2 year wedding anniversary! Yes, we were married in May, but he said that he wanted me to have it early so I could enjoy it during the colder months. Sweetest thing ever. So... I headed to the Starbucks to stock up on syrups! I may have went a little crazy...

And.... here is one of the Peppermint White Mocha's that I brewed! It tastes JUST like a S-bucks barista came to my house!

Mint love. <3

Beautiful, sunny first day of Spring...

...and this is 4 days later. Crazy Indiana weather!

I have been on a major smoothie kick this month. I'm talking a smoothie every day. This one was Strawberry, Banana, Honey, Green Yogurt, Almond Milk, & Spinach. SO. GOOD.

Easter Sunday. I love us.  :)

He Is Risen! Happy Easter!

DIY Pretty Shoebox Upcycle

Friday, March 22, 2013

I hate clutter. I don't like to keep anything in my house that doesn't serve a purpose or isn't extremely sentimental. That being said it's kind of a shock to me that I kept these shoeboxes lying around. The crafter in me refrained from tossing them and I'm so glad I did!

We are currently overhauling what used to be Darren's "fishing room". It is going to a guest room now since all of my family has moved away and we need a place for them to stay when they visit. My Christmas gift from Darren was mostly decor for the room so most of it is done, but there are still a few holes that need to be filled as far as accent pieces go(and on a budget). I have this beautiful scrapbook paper leftover from an album I just finished that matches the room but I couldn't decide how to use it in the room. Then it hit me... Mod Podge it to the shoeboxes!

So here is what I started with... aren't they lovely?

Now pay attention because this is really hard. Ok, you all know me better than that. I don't do hard. Alright, I'll be serious... cut the paper into sections that fit each side of the box. You can use good old fashioned scissors or a fancy schmancy paper trimmer like I did. Next slather your Mod Podge over the surface of the box and apply your paper. The Mod Podge dries very quickly so make sure you go section by section. Don't try to do it all at once.
And wa-la! Easy as pie and cute as can be! Now I have pretty boxes for my guest room that cost me $0! LOVE. IT!

Things I'm Loving Thursday : DIY Spring Decor

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

Spring! Spring! Spring! I love this season more and more every year. It speaks to the girly side of me like no other season. Spring is an excuse to deck your entire house in pastels & flowers and get away with it. When your husband tries to complain just say "Honey, I've been waiting all year for this. Spring to me is like hunting season is to you." He'll understand. Now get yourself to the craft store before he changes his mind!

Things I'm Loving Thursday : Green Treats

Thursday, March 14, 2013

St. Patrick's Day isn't really a celebrated holiday in our home. I don't have anything against it... I just don't really know what it's about other than that it's an Irish celebration, you spend all day trying not to get pinched, and most people use it as an excuse to get drunk. I have a little Irish in my blood so I guess I could celebrate that, however I'm not a drinker. So what can I do to show my Irish pride? Oh... I've got it! I can eat! And what will I eat, you ask? How about I give you a little round up of some of my favorite green desserts?! If I decide to celebrate St. Patty's this is how I'll do it!

Leprechaun Samoa Ice Pops

Leprechaun Cookie Bark
Shamrock Shake
Green Velvet Cake Pops
Green Velvet Cupcakes
Lucky Chocolate Covered Oreos

Things I'm Loving Thursday : Pastel Fashion

Thursday, March 7, 2013

Spring is less than 2 weeks away! FINALLY! I love a chunky scarf and pair of warm boots, but I am very ready for this Midwest weather to warm up a bit. Plus I am swooning over so many of the Spring 2013 fashion trends! One of my favorite new fashion "do's" for Spring is pastels. This trend started last year when we saw mint green start to pop up here and there, but pastels are in full blown takeover mode now. Pastel pink, coral, and mint are the front runners for me, but I'm also loving pastel prints like florals. These are some of the looks I'm most fond of this Spring.
